Dawn Higginbotham

Chief Creative Officer of an independent studio & principal / producer at Morning Person Pictures & Cordova Pictures, Dawn Higginbotham has been in the film industry for over 15 years, writing, directing & producing films & other content, as well as mentoring and empowering other filmmakers.

Dawn started in theater and graduated from the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC. After several years in theater, Dawn shifted her sites to film and got her first job on Die Hard w/ A Vengeance. She moved to L.A. and continued to work in production on such films as Jim Cameron's Titanic, A Thin Red Line, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, Armageddon and Godzilla. Dawn worked in post for Lucasfilm / THX on Star Wars: EP I, II & III. She also oversaw print control, hiring, training and evaluation of teams and workflow at Dolby Laboratories for various studios and filmmakers, in several countries.

In 2008, Dawn's first feature film "Diamonds & Guns" was released, a film she wrote and produced. She wrote and produced several other feature films after that, and in 2014 Dawn's directorial debut, "The Usual," won several awards for Best Picture and Best Director, and was an Official Selection at the Cannes Film Festival, American Pavilion Emerging Filmmaker Showcase.

Dawn is currently in development on several feature films through Morning Person Pictures, working with companies in the U.S. and in China.
