Sonja Shin

Sonja Shin is an award-winning journalist, specializing in “translating” science/tech and health/medicine for the layperson. Shin regularly appears on TV as an expert guest and trains people how to be great presenters. She has produced for NBC Network News in New York City and reported for CBS TV stations in San Francisco and Seattle.

Shin is a popular beauty and health blogger with a YouTube channel that has been viewed more than a half million times. She is the founder of May You Shine, an organization to promote self-esteem and self-care to reduce self-harm and suicide.

Shin has been a spokesperson for large corporations like Edward Jones. She has produced medical news for "The Today Show" and "NBC Nightly News" in New York City and reported news at TV stations in San Francisco, Seattle and St. Louis. She has hosted a daily beauty and health talk radio show, and handled public affairs and development at NASA.

Shin has been coached and mentored by Matt Lauer and Brian Williams. She studied science journalism at Northwestern University and the world’s top science communication graduate program at University of California, Santa Cruz.
