Magic and the Unknown: Mystery and Wonder in the Modern World

Nate Staniforth
When we're young, it's easy to be amazed. As we get older, experiences of wonder and astonishment become harder and harder to find. Magician Nate Staniforth shares his lifelong search for amazement-a journey that began in Iowa as a young boy when he learned to make a coin disappear and has led to thousands of theaters and auditoriums around the world in the years since. Nate talks about his travels through India to track down an ancient tribe of traditional Indian street magicians who have passed their secrets from generation to generation for over three thousand years, and explores the conflict between the universal allure of the unknown and our impulse to explain everything.

At the end, he'll perform a few of his original, interactive creations and take questions from the audience.
