NeuroDiversity, Autism & STEM: Creating A Competitive Advantage (Primary Edition)

Jonathan Kaufman

The work of the 21st Century is becoming dominated by science, technology, engineering and mathematics as a critical driver to long term success. Across the STEM landscape from Silicon Valley to Silicon Alley we are finding an increasing number of STEM workers who are on the autism spectrum. Over the past decade studies from major academic institutions to mainstream publications have begun to highlight the heightened gifts this community has when it comes to the STEM field.

One of the fundamental questions for STEM companies is how to best understand neurodiversity and best leverage this pool of human capital to create an enviornment to access these skill sets and develop a pipeline of workers that offer a competitive advantage and provide a true ripple effect across your organization.

J Kaufman Consulting through these workshops will help your organization both understand this community as well as how to cultivate new strategies to create the workforce your organization needs to compete in the STEM world of the 21st Century!

Jonathan Kaufman has been an innovative thought leader, business educator, and strategist who recognizes the impact of personal development on organizational growth.

Born with Cerebral Palsy, Jonathan Kaufman’s disability has been a profound part of his personal, academic and professional life. Whether hiking in the Ecuadorian highlands with his family, skiing down a mountain or repelling down the side of a cliff in the Middle East, to the simplicity of tying his own shoes one handed, he has pushed the idea that anything is possible if given the will.

He continued his graduate work in the social sciences at the University of Chicago studying Psychiatric Social Work/Human Development and Public Policy, and then attended Columbia University studying Applied Anthropology with an emphasis on the culture of work for the 21st century.

Today, Professor Kaufman is seen as one of the most innovative thinkers and practitioners in the areas of diversity and inclusion, organizational strategy and personal growth. As an executive coach, consultant, and licensed psychotherapist Kaufman seeks to develop new strategies and initiatives by synthesizing ideas from management theories and applications to entrepreneurial thinking to the knowledge of human capital by cultivating increased motivation and skills to achieve greater success both personally and professionally.
