Greg Plum has been involved in various technology roles for the past 15 years—but with the rate of technology change, the last few years he has focused on new cloud technologies as they are introduced. Greg’s true motivation comes from serving on councils and advisory boards to help shape the future of the industry, and evangelizing the value of cloud technology and unified communications. Over the years, He has managed projects, products, hundreds of people, and—sometimes hardest of all—himself.

Greg’s passion for technology and desire to form long-term relationships with his business partners and clients earned him the honor of being named a communications industry Channel Executive of the Year Finalist in 2009, 2010, and 2011. As an entrepreneur and principal of Plum Unified Communications, Greg has been recognized as an industry expert in the conferencing, collaboration, and unified communications space. He lobbied on Capitol Hill in support of the IT industry; traveled the country to share the customer and business value of unified communications; and was selected to deliver a TEDx Talk on Cloud Technology.

Greg also currently serve as a CompTIA faculty member, offering various technology and business development courses with a focus on channel partnerships and social media strategies for IT companies. Greg strives to translate complex technologies that are changing at “the speed of cloud” into understandable concepts and actionable items for those that can benefit most from these advances: the end users. He is a passionate evangelist for the technologies that are now before us, and a focused student of those that lie ahead.
